MakerBritain makes setting up your delivery charges simple.
When you first open your Delivery Settings, the standard Royal Mail delivery options are already set up for you with the current Royal Mail postage charges pre-populated.
This means you don’t need to look up and enter all of the standard postage prices yourself.
Check your delivery prices #
Review the pre-populated delivery options and make sure the ones you intend to use are suitable for your products.
The standard options include Royal Mail services for different letter and parcel sizes, together with tracked delivery options and FREE delivery.
Want to include packaging or other costs? #
The pre-populated prices are a starting point. You are free to change them.
For example, if Royal Mail postage costs £3.20 but you want to charge £3.50 to help cover packaging, you can simply edit that delivery price.
Once you change a price, MakerBritain will not change it back. Your delivery charges remain under your control.
You don’t have to use every option #
You only need to use the Shipping Types that are appropriate for the products you sell.
When you add or edit a product, simply choose the Shipping Type that best matches how that product will be sent.
You can also use the FREE Delivery option if you’ve included the cost of postage in your product price.
When Royal Mail changes its prices #
MakerBritain can update the standard Royal Mail prices for future new Makers, but your own saved delivery prices remain yours.
This means a price you’ve deliberately changed — for example to include packaging — won’t suddenly be overwritten.
Royal Mail Click & Drop is separate #
Your delivery settings determine what your customer pays for delivery.
If you use Royal Mail Click & Drop, you can also connect your own Royal Mail account to MakerBritain to help create and manage Royal Mail orders. This is separate from the delivery prices you charge customers.
